“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ... In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:1–5
An open Bible with a column of gold glitter rising out of the pages like light breaking loose, a white dove descending above and a great feathered wing sweeping down toward the Word. The reference John 1:1–5 is worked into the center of the piece. Painted as a picture of Scripture doing what it does — alive, moving, and shining in the dark.
